KIMnet connects museums and cultural institutions in North-Western Switzerland and makes collection holdings publicly accessible. Via the website, visitors and researchers can search for, compare and discover objects in various contexts.

We are developing the web app for searching, displaying and utilising the collection data. The frontend is built using Next.js and accesses the existing data structure without interfering with the museums’ data entry systems.

Search functionality is central: in addition to a fast full-text search, an advanced search with filters and subject-specific criteria is available, designed particularly for academic use. We are continuously developing the application and integrating new features so that it remains stable and user-friendly even as the data volume grows.
